For a while I thought I'd get a lot more work done if my weekends were like school. If I just had a bell system to indicate when to eat, when to clean, when to study, when to play, I could forget about what I should or want to do and instead just do something. That's a bit extreme. A timer is just as good. It helps create habits. Which, for me, are smashed whenever I have a big freelance translation project.
I'm not complaining. Good money, good experience, even good fun working on these kinds of projects. But I am tired and out of whack in my regular way of doing things. Getting back on the horse after the project is done is the hard part.
