One hundred and twenty one days. That's just under a third of a year. And how long it "took" me to complete a mission in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. This is ignoring the times i lost the map. This is map fourteen out of twenty-four. Without realizing it (entirely) I was up until 2 am trying to get the upper hand in this battle. Around turn one hundred it felt like the AI had grown bored.
Success never felt like it was going to come. Previous failure did not make success feel guaranteed or something that would just happen as a course of nature. It certainly wasn't over one night. It was many in-game days of slow and steady progress.
