I found myself in the position to play the part of Santa at a local company Xmas party this holiday season. There wasn't particularly much involved. Dress-up, hand out candy to kids, say "Ho-ho-ho" and "Merry Christmas". Not hard, not stressful. Sure, I was a bit nervous, but that's just the kind of guy I am. It wasn't until the event had ended that I realized how exhausted I was.
There was the additional "fun" stress of realizing some of my students were attending this event. They realized it was me, but now I get to spend January saying "Of course it wasn't! I have no idea what you're talking about." Additional opportunities to screw with people were had when someone mustered up the courage to ask in English where I was from and I replied with a hearty "The North Pole, naturally!" It took some of them a few times to completely grasp what I was saying.
