Okay, so there is a list of games this week. And it has some PC Engine stuff you may or may not have heard of. And it has Final Fight 2, sure, sure. And a visual novel, which is great. Oh and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. Need we actually talk about the other games? I cannot fathom why. What with the backlit devices we have now, the beauty of CotM is able to shine like it sure as hell did not on the original GBA.

Taking a cue from Final Fantasy, Final Soldier is the third in the eight games of the Star Soldier series. So, another shooter. Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman 2: Aratanaru Teki or Shockman is the sequel to an unreleased, apparently quite different game that uses swordplay as opposed to a Mega Man like buster weapon. Watching a video shows that shooting up is an option and the player is treated to an annoying “eeeeeyayn” with every shot. And speaking of sequels, although Final Fight Guy and Mighty Final Fight have yet to hit Virtual Console, we have the sequel now.

Schoolhouse Horror Story is the name listed on Wikipedia for Gakkou de atta Kowai Hanashi which totally should be translated as “A Scary Story That Happened at School” because that is terrible and well, everyone likes a bad translation, right? As a visual novel, I would personally like to play an updated version on a touch device, because that is easily the best genre for these things.
